Re: Darkness II
Ok, but you have not actually played it?
I would rather have 5 hours of solid fun than 10 hours of average gameplay.
If you play normally and do all the vendetta and hit list missions then the game is easily over 10 hours not including the new game + mode.
But everyone is entitled to their opinion.

Re: Darkness II
IMO, i think price shouldnt fact into this really.
Weather you buy a game on Day 1 for £40 or in 2 weeks when its £20 doesnt change the content off the game.
Since i got £35 back for the game, i look at it as a £5 rental.
But if i wasnt trading back in, id suggest waiting for a month or so for the price to come down.
Its a great game, me and harbour had quite a few Laughs last night.
The Axe was just Brutally Brilliant!

Re: Darkness II
Never played the demo so don't know what level or mission it was, but you must have been doing it wrong..
I would have thought that to recommend a game or not to our fellow members people would have actually played the full game, but apparently not.

That's ok, I was just interested to hear what peoples views were and what they based their decisions on.

Graphically, its no Uncharted but the game is based on the Comic Book and maybe the graphics are fitting for the game.
As far as it being dull, its the Darkness! You didnt think you'd be going through Daisy Fields?

Maybe Rules/Guidelines need to be set out for Voting on these.
The Demo is first level/area (Being dragged the Restaurant).

Re: Darkness II
I want to play this but waiting for Lovefilm. Having played Darkness (and loved it) I don't want to fork out £40 (ish) for a game which doesn't have a very good reply value.
Still looking forward to giving it a proper bash though, demo was quite fun.

Re: Darkness II
Played the full game now - love the cell-shading look of it, very much like a graphic novel. Good story and fun gameplay mechanics.
Finally a game that just lets you sit back and have FUN without too much thinking or time-wasting!

Re: Darkness II
Enjoyed the demo and will pick this up at some point.
Regards game length. The fact that it as co-op means this game as a far longer life than just it's campaign length. Co-op always adds replayability.
Do you still have your copy harbour? If you do I'd love to run through the co-op when I buy it.

Re: Darkness II
More thoughts...
Ok... this game is excellent. It looks wonderful and really captures that comic book/graphic novel feel to perfection.
The controls are accurate and despite all of the options available to you it all feels very natural. In other words - it plays like a dream.
The story telling is great, well scripted and superbly delivered by the voice actors including the Godlike Mike Patton as The Darkness.
Playing through the game was fun and well paced with the option to skip dialogue and cinematics if you so wish.
The co-op side of things is extra topping of goodness. I played through the Vendettas campaign as the very angry Jimmy Wilson and some of the things he came out with were hilarious.
This game comes well recommended from me.

Re: Darkness II
Its well worth going up to people in the story and just listening to what they are saying, very well scripted in a tongue-in-cheek mobster kind of way.
